Families can travel through time at Paynetown State Recreation Area’s annual Heritage Days, Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 15, at Monroe Lake.
Re-enactors will portray different time periods from 1745 to the 1890s and invite visitors to wander through their camps. A small Heritage Village will be in the Lakeview picnic area, next to the swimming beach. The naturalist staff will also offer historically themed kids programs and crafts on Friday and Saturday to complement the Heritage Village.
The Heritage Village is open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 13; from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 14; and from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, July 15.
Heritage Days are free after paying the property entrance fee of $7 per in-state vehicle or $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
