Mothing at Summit Lake State Park, July 28

Learn about moths at Summit Lake State Park on Saturday, July 28.

Similar to birding, mothing is the practice of looking for, identifying
and recording moths. Moths outnumber butterfly species, yet scientists
do not know as much about them. Using lights and “moth broth,” Rick
Malad will show participants how to attract these creatures to their own
backyards.

Mothing runs from sunset until very late at Campsite 4 in Loop A.

All are welcome to stop by to see mothing equipment and look at moths.

Participation is free after paying the standard gate fee of $7 per
in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
