Outdoor Indiana magazine’s July-August issue features a cover photo essay on macrophotography, the art of taking photos extremely close to the subject, and includes tips for those who want to try it.
The cover photo is an extreme close-up of purple coneflower taken at Prophetstown State Park.
Other feature subjects include the Buffalo Trace, an ancient highway American bison took through southern Indiana, and the Miami Indians’ historic account of the Battle of Mississinewa during the War of 1812.
Outdoor Indiana is available now at Barnes & Noble stores in Indiana for $4. Subscriptions are $15 for one year (six issues, a 27 percent savings) and $28 for two years (12 issues, a 42 percent savings).
