Learn survival skills at Clifty Falls SP, June 9

Learn how to start a campfire, collect water and build a shelter during
a survival skills event on Saturday, June 9, at Clifty Falls State Park.

All activities take place at the Nature Center. Scout Troop 577 will
host the event in collaboration with park naturalists.

Fire Starting 101 begins at 10 a.m. Participants can practice various
methods, including bow drills, magnifying glasses and more.

At 1 p.m., participants will discover various ways to collect water in
the wilderness.

Lastly, at 3 p.m., Shelter Building 101 will begin. Participants will
practice building a shelter using only natural materials.

The event is free and registration is not required. Anyone under 14
years old must be accompanied by an adult.
