Benefit Crappie Tourney slated at Kokomo Reservoir

Bustin Guts, an area outdoor promotional group, will host a crappie tournament May 7 on the Kokomo Reservoir. The event will begin at 8am and conclude with a weigh in at 12:15 pm. Registration can be made by going to the group’s Facebook page and signing up. Deadline is this Wednesday. The tournament staging site will be the Main Reservoir Park, located on Howard County Road 500 East.

Participants can fish with three in a boat and bank fishing will also be permitted as long as anglers stay on public property or other areas with permission. Anglers who take part in the inaugural event will be treated to lunch following the weigh in as well as various door prizes.

“One of our group’s mission is to help engage children into outdoor activities, helping lead them to a life of adventures and memories,” said Bryan Gates, one of the original founders of the popular club. Because of this a portion of the proceeds will go towards this year’s 34th annual Jim “Moose” Carden Kids Fishing Clinic where children learn almost every aspect of the great sport of fishing.

Additional tourney details or information can be obtained by contacting Bryan Gates at (765) 438-9582
